November 22nd 2019, Los Angeles – – Aalia Lanius, founder of Unsugarcoated Media, a nonprofit media organization tailored around encouraging and lifting up resilient leaders who have overcome obstacles and struggles and turned them into triumph and success, is receiving worldwide recognition as her second novel, Jugend, has been awarded the 2019 Bronze Medal in the Readers’ Favorite Fiction-Cultural category. Lanius will be personally attending the Reader’s Favorite ceremony to accept her award this Saturday evening in Miami, Florida.
Readers’ Favorite, one of the largest book review and award contest sites on the Internet, judges thousands of books from all over the world from varying degrees of authors, featuring works ranging from independent first-time self-published authors to #1 New York Times Bestselling author Daniel Silva(The New Girl) to celebrity authors like Jim Carrey(Bruce Almighty).
“I feel honored that others in the literary world see the value of Jugend and hope that this award will cause more people to consider what I feel is a relevant story to the current times we are living in,” said Lanius. She is accompanied by her husband, Joseph Lanius, CEO of Lanius Law & Associates and Film Executive Producer, who has served film projects with notable cast such as Brad Pitt, Samuel Jackson, Keanu Reeves, Robert DeNiro, and Lily Collins.
The sophomore novel from Lanius unapologetically addresses hard-hitting and often-avoided subjects like white terrorism, white supremacy, and islamophobia in a story that has been praised by readers who have called it “a gripping novel” and asserted that it should be taught in school settings, due to its strong message against hateful rhetoric through the eyes of young characters.
Jugend currently has a 4.2 out of 5 rating on Goodreads and a 4.9 out of 5 rating on Amazon Book Reviews. Along with stellar reader reviews, Jugend was named the Top Multicultural Fiction Novel of 2019 by the Global EBook Awards, a worldwide recognition system founded by literary pioneer Dan Poynter. Jugend also received a five-star rating from critics at Readers’ Favorite in March, being praised for “telling a complex and emotional story in a way that is easy to understand”. The further recognition of Jugend from Readers’ Favorite as one of the top Fiction-Cultural novels solidifies the praise that the book has garnered since its March release date.
