“My greatest ambition in life; is to live it,” says Aalia Lanius, author of “Tough Love” and wife of Executive Producer and film entertainment attorney, Joseph Lanius. It’s been an exciting year in the Lanius household as this time last year her husband’s first EP project “To The Bone” premiered at Sundance, starring Keanu Reeves and Lily Collins, shortly after the birth of their daughter in January 2017. A year later she is launching her own novel into the fiction world, which is based on true events in her life. “This book is me baring my soul,” she says, “but this is a message of hope, make no mistake. Foul language and all, it is meant for people to look beyond the “what if I don’t” and seek the “what if I do?” Aalia refers to her direct and raw writing style that has the ability to inspire people as she draws on her own firsthand experiences on topics such as teenage homelessness, domestic abuse, infidelity, divorce, parenting, and health challenges. Aalia’s personal story is one of tragedy and triumph including cancer, autoimmune diseases, a painful divorce, and learning what self- love truly is.

As a mother of four, Aalia splits her time between yoga pants, mom duties, red carpet events, and traveling the world with her husband and kids when time permits. All this while being an advocate for healthy living as a cancer survivor and living with autoimmune diseases, including one with no cure. On other days Aalia is busy being the the creative mind behind “Relationships Unsugarcoated,” a website that will feature a series called, “Dear Aalia” with the goal of helping people talk honestly and openly about current day relationships, both romantic and platonic.
