Unsugarcoated Media Founder Aalia Lanius Becomes Award-Winning Author Thanks to her Latest Book
The Global EBook Awards recognize Aalia Lanius’ Jugend as the Top Multicultural Literature Fiction novel of 2019.
August 20th, 2019, Los Angeles – – Aalia Lanius, founder of Unsugarcoated Media, a nonprofit media organization tailored around encouraging and lifting up resilient leaders who have overcome obstacles and struggles and turned them into triumph and success, is receiving worldwide recognition as her second novel, Jugend, has been awarded the 2019 Gold Medal in Global EBook Awards’ Multicultural Literature Fiction category.
The Global EBook Awards, a recognition system founded by literary pioneer Dan Poynter, judges hundreds of books on a strict scoring criteria, featuring writing elements such as woven subplots, appropriate ebook layout, character development and audience engagement. Despite Jugend not being primarily promoted as an ebook, as many of the other recognized Global Ebook Award winners are, the novel managed to receive the highest honor from the award team.
“I feel honored that others in the literary world see the value of Jugend and hope that this award will cause more people to consider what I feel is a relevant story to the current times we are living in,” said Lanius.
The sophomore novel from Lanius unapologetically addresses hard-hitting and often-avoided subjects like white terrorism, white supremacy, and islamophobia in a story that has been praised by readers who have called it “a gripping novel” and asserted that it should be taught in school settings, due to its strong message against hateful rhetoric through the eyes of young characters.
Jugend currently has a 4.2 out of 5 rating on Goodreads and a 4.9 out of 5 rating on Amazon Book Reviews. Along with stellar reader reviews, Jugend received a five-star rating from critics at Readers’ Favorite, being praised for “telling a complex and emotional story in a way that is easy to understand”. The Global Ebook Awards’ recognition of Jugend as the best Multicultural Literature Fiction novel solidifies the praise that the book has garnered since its March release date.
